Hi, I’m Paulla, the maker behind A Bright Spot.

My business began during a season of caregiving while I was caring for my mom, who had dementia. Creating became my escape. A small, joyful pause in the middle of hard days.

It was my Bright Spot… and that’s exactly how the name came to be.

What started as a creative outlet grew into a way to spread joy through handmade oyster shell gifts and jewelry with pieces meant to feel cheerful, thoughtful, and a little unexpected.

Every item is handmade by me in small batches, with care and intention. No two shells are ever the same, and that’s part of the magic.
